Genesis Photography featured in Volume One

A local publication, Volume One, just ran a feature story on Ethiopian Adoption in Eau Claire. I was very pleased to be asked to provide the photography for this article! So pick up the latest issue, or click here to read the article.

Just a Few

Here are just a few photos from a pre-Christmas shoot that I am finally blogging! This family had the joy of welcoming their newest addition in November, just a couple of weeks after moving into a new home. (Talk about a crazy holiday season!)

Welcome baby Grant...

Thanks for having me again, guys! It is always a pleasure to work with you!

New Blog (and a sweet baby)

Well, as you can see, the Genesis Photography Blog has a new look! Nothing fancy, just larger images and a new layout. I am super excited about the change, and might even have more changes up my sleeve ; )

I have SO many sessions that I haven't even blogged yet, but I had to share this one first. I was so excited when mom showed me the little "pear" outfit she had gotten off of Etsy.com for this shoot, and the beautiful basket. Adorable! It is so fun when my clients are as excited as I am!

Meet little Ollie...

And of course we had to get a few of the BIG BROTHER!!

Ethiopia

As some of you know, my husband and I were recently in Africa. In June of 2008, I was given the opportunity to travel to Ethiopia and meet and photograph the children of two Kingdom Vision International orphanages. Although my husband and I had always considered adoption as a way of growing our family, it wasn’t until that trip that we knew for sure that we were called to adopt a child from Ethiopia. So, after a lengthy homestudy, mountains of paperwork and lots of learning, growing, praying and waiting, on January 11th, 2010, we finally met our daughter, Sara Zubeida Schultz!

We have been home for about a month now, and although the transition to becoming a family of five has had its share of new challenges, overall it has gone beautifully.

Speaking of beautiful… here is my daughter!

Before I post these next photos, I just want to say that the photos below are not just images to me, they are my passion. There is nothing in my work that gives me more life than taking and editing photos like these. This is why I do what I do.

Okay, on to the photos.

Here are some of the beautiful people we encountered on our trip:

And you may remember this photo from my trip in 2008:
This is the same boy a year and a half later...
